My Beliefs
I believe that…
- our world needs more women connected to their feminine power
- if we let go of the busyness that pervades our lives, there is space to move from ‘doing’ to ‘being’
- when we slow down, and become grounded and rooted in our body, our inner wisdom has time and space to speak to us
- dance and soulful movement is a powerful way to come home to our bodies and reconnect to our inner spark
- we need to give ourselves full permission to ignite and explore our curiosity, and fully lean into what brings us pleasure and joy
- we all deserve to feel energised and radiant; living our life with passion, creativity, and purpose
- there is beauty and magic in celebrating our innate wholeness just as we are
- business strategy doesn’t have to be scary and intellectual, and can provide a place to come back to when we feel lost and overwhelmed
- we need to nurture sustainability rather than relentless growth, and do work we love without sacrificing all the other parts of lives
Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
― Howard Thurman
I See Beauty Everywhere
‘How beautiful is the earth.
How beautiful each individual here.
How beautiful each being.
How exquisite each nation.
What a beautiful earth.’
- Barbara Brennan
I’m a lover of beauty in the small, ordinary moments.
How we spend our days is how we spend our lives, and these everyday moments can be magical and powerful if we are aware and present to their beauty.
I choose to see the richness in the everyday.
The small moments that light up my life at the moment are barefoot beach walks, stories in bed, dancing in our living room, the clouds at sunset, a cup of herbal tea and a good book, deep conversations with friends, playing outdoors with my daughter in the afternoon sun, her running toward me at the end of Nature Kindy yelling ‘Mummy, Mummy’, and flowers – everything about flowers.
My Experiences
I’m a seeker, traveller and adventurer; and choose to fill my life with experiences alongside people I love. The experiences that stand out, are times when my heart opened wider and I connected with an inner strength and power. Times when I was deeply connected to myself, to others and with nature. Moments when I was in awe of this world we live in.
Here are some of these magical experiences which have shaped my life...
Solitude: Through a 21-day Outward Bound wilderness experience I spent a night in the bush by myself. I found how deeply comfortable I was in my own company, and the importance of solitude and reflection in my life. The letter I wrote myself that night, is still a North Star of how I want to spend my life.
Travel: Travelling for 10 months in South America with no set plans, forever shifted my worldview and how to approach situations out of my control. When the bus is late, there is no point getting angry about it, or yelling at someone, as it isn’t going to come any faster, so just chill out and read your book! I learnt how calm and adaptable I am (a level-head amidst the storm), as I navigated the obstacles that come with travelling, while realising how unimportant many of the things I worry about really are when I step away from them.
Hiking: Trekking for 8 days in the magnificent mountain ranges of Torres del Paine, Argentina where we carried all our own gear including tents and food. There was knee deep snow, wind that blew you over, and my fiancé (now husband) and I didn’t see anyone else for the first 4 days. I connected to a deep physical and emotional resiliency on that hike. I was reminded how I can truly do tough things, and the beauty that can come from stretching yourself.
Birth: The powerful awakening to my feminine power and strength in giving birth to my daughter at home. When I had a deep, profound physical reaction touring our local hospital’s birthing unit, I knew I wanted to try and have a natural birth experience at home. I truly listened to my body, and my intuition for the first time in my life, which was scary and also empowering. I was blessed with a beautiful sacred birth experience, where I felt the innate wisdom of my body and a deep inner strength I didn’t know I had. It felt like an initiation and a full stepping into my new role as a mother, and a new recognition of my womanhood.
Coaching: Working with my own coach in 2017 when I felt completely broken, lost and overwhelmed. 2016 had kicked my butt, with the transition to motherhood, my husband nearly dying in front of me of a cardiac arrest, and then him needing to spend over two months in hospital that year. My time with that coach was transformative. She supported me to start coming back home to myself, open up my heart, see the divine threads of my life and ignite my soul’s path. Through her work I deeply connected to how my uniqueness truly is my superpower, and started to live with more joy and purpose.
Qoya: I attended my first Qoya class with an open mind, and left with an open heart, a deeper connection to my spirit, and knowing that this was medicine I wanted to share with others. Following these threads of curiosity, learning to listen to my soul whispers and reconnecting to my love of music and dance, has truly transformed my life.
There is so much more to my story, and if you want to find out more about my journey you can read more about it here.
